About APETAU

APETAU was established in 1997 during the First International Conference on Arabic- English Contrastive and Comparative Studies which was held at the University of Jordan. (17-21 August). More than 150 professors and researchers representing most Arab countries participated in this conference. The participants came from the following Arab countries: Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, Oman, Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya.

Today, there are over 500 members in APETAU from departments of English Language, Literature, Translation, Linguistics, and Speech Sciences across top universities in the Arab World.
